CHIP DORNELL

Chip Dornell joined the world of comedy in 1984 by emceeing an open mike night at a now defunct club called Hunt's in Burlington, Vermont. He was so concerned with memorizing his jokes that night he allowed a guitar soloist who showed up in altered states to practically stand on stage and tune his guitar for a half hour. It cleared the room of the three patrons who obviously came down expecting to see a much more professional open mike and Dornell was never asked to return.

In 1991 he relocated to Los Angeles leaving cold winters and open mikes behind.

As a writer Dornell has co-authored the best-selling "The Simpsons: A Complete Guide to Our Favorite Family." He has also written for both American versions of the weakest link. And though there has also been work on the show Jeopardy! and several freelance articles for Daily Variety, his proudest moment was lip-syncing to Britney Spears and Madonna as a presenter at the 2003 Razzie Awards.
